Press Release
PORTLAND, OR — On Friday, October 24, 2025, Portland-based multi-instrumentalist and producer Adam Carpinelli will debut his new album, Lanterns Vol. II: The Lanterns Suite, with a live performance at The Alberta Abbey from 6:00–9:00 p.m.
The evening will feature a fourteen-piece big band performing all-original compositions by Carpinelli—an expansive sound that blends world rhythms, jazz, and progressive fusion into a dynamic, genre-defying suite.
Performers include Terry Baber, Hans Barklis, Adrian Baxter, Levis Dragulin, Owen Evans, Michael Galen, Toni Hill, Santiago LaRochelle, Marshall Peterson, Diego “Bakudan” Rivera, Neil Teller, Orion White and Alan Wood.
The event is all-ages, family-friendly, and ADA-accessible, reflecting Carpinelli’s commitment to community access. Admission is free for youth and young adults under 25, with a sliding-scale suggested donation ($5–$30) for others. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Food and beverages—including non-alcoholic and adult options—will be available for purchase. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., with two live sets from 7:00–9:00 p.m.
Carpinelli describes his music as “genre-bending, progressive, world, jazz fusion,” and views this performance as an act of cultural connection.
“I want my music to be as accessible as possible,” says Carpinelli. “Lanterns is about light, community, and creativity without barriers—economic or otherwise.”
The concert and album release are co-sponsored by AC Music Productions, Keys Beats Bars, Swingin’ Sounds, Amplifyr, the Northwest Alliance for Alternative Media and Education, and Afro-World Beat PDX.
As a multi-instrumentalist, who plays the guitar, electric bass, drum set and percussion, Adam’s compositions and performances further elevate modern future music by integrating musical genres from Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean with jazz and funk.
Over the course of a two decade career, multi-instrumentalist/composer, Adam Carpinelli, has never stopped evolving, reinventing his concept and approach with each new project while constantly honing his voice.
Adam is a modernist; he’s comfortable steering ensembles providing the pulse beneath West African Master drummers, hip hop MC’s, progressive jazz and world beat projects.
